But it would seem, it you are concerned about other countries influencing our election, you would create election processes and practices to prevent it. (eh-hem ... like total transparency, paper ballots, voter ID, and a stricter path of custody for any ballot not cast in person .... ie., everything the Democrats oppose). That's obviously not happening. And that we ourselves are doing the same thing to other countries gives justification for other countries to do the same to us.

Yes we need better management of our elections and whatever total transparency is. Of course how do you get total transparency when ballots are supposed to be secret? Also remember per the constitution each state is responsible for administering the elections. Can’t have a national control over them. Regardless that isn’t justification for us not combatting foreign attempts to interfere in ours

B: The way to NOT fight it is swallow the hook and try to impeach Trump because you think he is a Russian puppet with zero evidence. C: We have far greater evidence of China's influence than Russia could ever dream of. D: This is why people like Trump are good and people like Biden are bad. Transparency would be the easiest of the list. The ONLY aspect of what is secret is who you voted for. It is public records who voted, and it is public record what the vote totals are. If every ballot was assigned a number, and the name associated with the ballot is made on a separate record, then it becomes a breeze to actually visually audit any ballot. Number 00000231 voted X ... but you don't know who Number 00000231 is, so secret ballot is retained. You could practically live stream the counting, up close and personal so that people can watch every detail of the ballot counting process, because you would never see a name, only a number. And as such, you could do a hand count of the ballots and compare to machine count, AND, you could verify which ballots were actually mailed out, and which ones were fabricated.
I believe what you described is pretty much in place in Florida. They really fixed it up after the hanging chad thing with Bush v Gore. Voting early and by mail has been in place over here for a long time. I can track my ballot from request, to delivery, to receipt by board of elections and counting. If there is a problem in any step, they have solutions already in place. Very easy to cancel and issue a new ballot. They key is you have to request the ballot. It has control numbers on it. It's not that complicated, which is why the Dems hate it.
