It is not a physical thing but it can ce spent or transferred from anywhere I the world from any mobile device. And as of now it's value is growing. I only have a small amount in a wallet I opened just a little over a month ago. It has grown in value by 42%.. Not that I would buy a large amount without learning a lot more but it's worth learning about
That said I don't believe in putting all my eggs in one basket. Gold will always have value and is transportable but can physically be lost or stolen.
