I pray to God he stays on the D-line, he looks like a Dorsey clone to me.
  2. Re: Joshua Downs

Very good motor. He needs to gain some muscle mass though to overcome 330 lb offensive linemen and hold his ground on double teams. The good thing is you can see the intensity is there so if he can just get bigger and stronger without losing his quickness he will be a good player.

Tubberville commented that DL is one of the easiest positions to evaluate on the high school level because their isn't much to adjust to mentally. It makes sense to me.

Downs was incredible!!! He and Loston were among the defensive stars of the All-Star game today!!!

He already has his 4th star.

I projected him into the rivals 250 when the last listing comes out. How high he climbs depends on how fair rivals will be to him.

He could conceivably end up in the top 100. He's that good and deserves it.
  5. Re: Joshua Downs

Sentimore who? Downs was beast! Put 20lbs on him and he will be something.
  6. Re: Joshua Downs

I was referring to Scout's rankings and some on the national board said he would probably stay at a 3. But that was before this week.
  7. Re: Joshua Downs

    I always reference rivals rankings.

I also like to compare against other rankings to get a consolidated ranking average. I will publish one later this week and show a thread on it.

  9. Re: Joshua Downs

Now everyone understands why we took a 3 star DT so early in the process with people like McFarland on our board.

Because he is every bit as good as McFarland. But without Momma Adams.
