I hope to see him land somewhere where he can contribute right away. Buster sure has all the tools to do it.
Grat player, great hands, great speed, absolutely great work ethic. He's got it all. Any team that gets him are lucky. I just hope he can go to the Saints but I doubt he lasts this long.
I agree, very good pro prospect. Before Bowe got his eyes fixed, Davis was the class of our receiver corps, IMO. Last year they were close, but with Bowe's size, he has an edge going to the NFL.
Its possible the Saints could pick him up but they would have to use their 2nd round pick on him b/c he wont last till the 3rd. Some Mock drafts have Dewayne Jarrett falling to the late 2nd with the Saints taking him. I am hoping someone picks him up earlier so we can get Davis but I will still be happy with Jarrett.
I think he's pretty similar to Devery Henderson now, they both seemed to catch the ball a lot with their bodies here. He has countless numbers of great diving catches but for somereason was never able to find the endzone as much as Bowe or Doucet.
I don't see Henderson in Buster at all. Devery had all the talent, but never worked hard and always had problems catching the ball with his hands. Buster has a good work ethic, better than average blocking and great hands. He hasn't found the endzone much as a Tiger because he hasn't needed to with two other great WRs.
That was because either Russell or Fisher prefered to go to the "bigger" recievers in the endzone. And btw, Davis has better hands than both Doucet and Bowe. But Doucet and Bowe, because of their size, could use their bodies to catch the ball too. And that's exactly what you need in the endzone.:thumb: Another thing I can add to Davis' positives is his toughness. He can take the biggest hits and get up in no time. One weakness he has is tendency to get injured. Not his fault though. It's never your fault when someone hits you full speed to the knee on a fair catch.:dis:
I haven't seen any mocks with Jarrett in the late second, some have Davis there but he is usually earlier. The "consensus" is that they will both be taken somewhere in the last 10 picks of the first or first 10 picks of the second. The Titans selecting Jarrett would be a possible scenario, seeing as how they just lost their 6'5 receiver, Drew Bennett, who is similar to Jarrett and of course the Norm Chow connections. The Saints would be wise to draft Davis since he can stretch the field(a role that Devery and Dante used to fill) and return for them since Michael Lewis is getting up there and I doubt they want Reggie Bush doing that. I think they need to address LB, DT, and CB before that though. I did a mock draft for them and managed to get Lawrence Timmons with 27, trade a #4 to get Justin Harrell at #50, and trade like a #6 to pick Fred Bennett with #77. It was early and I was expecting them to pick up a corner in FA.
The mock draft I saw with Jarrett was from thefootballexpert.com but they have so many that you just leave confused. Here is a new mock draft from Foxsports with Bowe landing with the Saints in the 1st. That would be awesome but I dont think he will fall to 27. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/6649680
