Everything is going to be fine. In a few weeks we will have a new coach. On the 2nd of February we will have another top 10 recruiting class (probably including Ryan Perilloux). Then we will be talking about the possibility of another National Championship next year. Why can I say this? Because we have Skip Bertman as AD. He's been anticipating this possibility and will see to it (along with the LSU Admin) that we get the coach we need and deserve. :thumb:
There is good reason to worry because hiring a coach is always a crap shot, many a great coach has failed and many a lesser coach has had success. There is also reason to be happy because if you are hiring a coach LSU is in the perfect position with a solid foundation for the program and a team loaded with talent. Do worry, be happy!!!!!!!
Strangely enough, I think Trev Alberts' comments following Saban's press conference, was HUGE in terms of speaking to both potential coaches AND recruits. When he said we are "loaded with talent", I actually had visions of dozens of recruits thinking about attending LSU, sitting in their living rooms shaking their heads in agreement. For what most of us perceive as negative outcomes due to Saban's leaving, that comment was a HUGE positive.
TT, you're right, it's always a crap shoot, but if we get one of Skip's top candidates who has already proven himself as a good coach, good recruiter and good program head than the %'s will be with us this time. We've never hired a coach from this position of strength since Cholly Mac took over the reins. He took over a loaded team as well.
Let's hope there are not many players already on board like Xavier Carter and Sean Merrill who might be thinking of transferring, according to some other boards. ________ Ipad accessories
