A few remarks on the weekend in College Football

1.) I feel a little better about the LSU defense seeing what ASU did to NU. Not that i am happy but ASU has one of the best offenses in the country.

2.) Not impressed with Fla. St . Even though they have beaten Miami and BC they still dont have me thinking they are one of the best teams. Their offense sucks.

3.) Happy to see ND lose to Mich St and also happy to see they have a good team. They have the kind of team that might give USC a game of it at least.

4.) I may be wrong but i dont see any way OU beats Texas this year. They are very young and UT is gonna be looking for payback. Even Mack Brown cant screw this up.

5.) Stanford is a disgrace even to the Pac 10. To get beat by Cal St Davis.

6.) Tenn and Fla are both good teams. LSU will need to play good games against both to win. Both Defenses are very quick. Was hoping Tenn win so LSU players would keep their edge. But it being the first home game i dont think that is a problem.

7.) I am glad Vandy is doing well this year. It is good for the conference to have them be representative .

8.) I dont care how LSU wins they just need to keep racking up the W's.

Very good comments & observations. The only one I might take exception to is your comment about Mack Brown. The odds say Mack can't #%^! it up against the Sooners, but with Mack you can never say never

Sad to say... but at this point I don't see anybody knocking off either Texas or USC. With both the Pac-10 and Little 12 down, these two should waltz into the big game... and put up some impressive point margins in the process.

No one else... and I mean no one... has shown they have what it takes on both sides of the ball. I don't think there will be any undefeated teams in the SEC.

I hope you simply mean you feel texas has shown what it takes to go undefeated and meet USC. Surely you don't mean Texas is in the same league as USC. Texas will get crushed, and I do mean crushed, by USC. Maybe later on they'll develope a more balanced attack capable of hanging with USC, but as it stands now..USC throttles them.

I think that if LSU goes undefeated (a very big if), we do jump UT...I truly believe the circumstances from this year and last will conspire to give us the edge in the poll. Of course if we don't improve 5 fold over the first week, we'll get crushed as well.

Gotta disagree with you on the Pac 10. By the end of the year i believe it will be only USC, California and Arizona St. ranked in the top 25.

Maybe UCLA if they can win a few big games.

couple of things you are failing to recognize about Texas and their upcoming scedule........

    1. Mack Brown (big game choker) is still their coach.

    2. Texas has upcoming rivalry games against Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and OU. No matter how down any of these teams are, the record can be thrown out when they play. Texas will lose one of these games.

    3. Texas is known to blow the Big 12 championship game when they get there.........

I am not sold on Texas just yet.

    I see that.:)

Mack Brown's "failures" are legendary. Texas has just looked better that the rest of the wannabes (who have either already lost or looked rather average while winning).

Mack Brown lost the Big 12 championship game to Nebraska in 1999, and Colorado in 2001. Those are his only two trips.
