I don't think Butch would have been a consideration for the Miami job (either he would not have been interested or Miami would have burned that bridge already).

Coker wasn't fired because of the Peach Bowl last year. That was just one loss, although it was an indication of things to come. He was fired because of Miami's poor performance this year. Had Miami went 9-3 this year, Coker would still be head coach.
