Yea, Michigan seems alot like Texas... wins enough to still be dominant but never a threat for the MNC. kinda like the old adage "Always a bridesmaid, never a bride".
Michigan won the National Championship back in the mid 90's. Split it with Nebraska. Loyd Carr would have been gone a long time ago if he didnt have that to show for.
