1. I'm certainly not a fan of the Irish, but I'm a huge fan of Charlie Weis. Sports Center just showed the feature on Weis meeting with the 10 year old ND who died the day before ND played Washington. I'm not ashamed to admit that my eyes got a little misty watching it for the third or fourth time. What a class act. I'm obviously going to be a huge Irish fan tomorrow and hope they kick the Condom's a**es all the way back to LALA land.

Speaking of tomorrow, what a great day for college football. Three games at 2:30, LSU & UF, ND & USC, and Texas & CU. I told the wife to go shopping tomorrow afternoon as I was not to be bothered from 2:30 - 6:00. :D
  2. Hard to watch that without feeling a little choked up.

I am like you not a big ND fan but i like Charlie Weis. He understands what college football is all about. I like the fact he has awaken the echos and is using the ND lore.

I think Miles should use the Tiger lore too. Bring back old players to talk to the team and the like.
  3. They are READY to play...

Did you see the pep-rally they had in the Holy Dome?

    It was emotional!

Also something I noticed is how LONG the grass is...

They haven't cut the grass since the last home game, I guarantee!

To perhaps slow SC's cutting abilities
  4. That's a great idea particularly since we have a new coaching staff who have yet to experience a Saturday night in Death Valley. :thumb:
  5. That was some pep rally but Weis may be the speaker in the world when it comes to firing up a crowd. He said he wanted to talk about respect before getting into "the emotional stuff" and I'm still waiting toi here it. :)
  6. Not only that, he allowed the kid to choose ND's first play for that game. He chose a bootleg to the right. ND's first play came on their own one yardline, and they still ran that dangerous play in their own endzone. I thought that was as touching as anything.
  7. Yeah, Weis still sticking with the play while being inside his own 5 is unbelievable. What a class act. Hope the Irish crush those losers from Cali.LSU!
  8. Agreed, It was a very touching story, Weis should be commended for what he did. Charlie Weis is taking the program in the right direction, as much as I hate to admit it.

No way! I will never be a huge Irish fan, but I, like you, will be pulling for them tomorrow (ack, today...its getting late). I think ND will lose another game, but USC is running out of possible losses.

Amen! Tomorrow (today) is going to be a great day of college football! My best friend is a HUGE Florida fan, and we are actually watching the game together tomorrow. Surprisingly enough, we are exceptionly cordial to each other on LSU/Florida game weeks because we respect each other's passion so much. Tomorrow is going to be a great day, cooking and drinking all day- the way saturdays were meant to be.

In preparation for the game tomorrow, I have already started drinking...can you tell?

GEAUX TIGERS! GEAUX TIGERS! GEAUX TIGERS!

    :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
  9. Point taken. Upon reflection and a good nights sleep I will be an Irish fan today, but not a HUGE fan.
  10. What's the big deal? JR let Fats call the last play in the ASU game.
