Urban will get his shot to prove himself soon enough. Right now, there's quite a few indicators that he will be one hell of a coach (whether he turns out to be the best in the league remains to be seen, much less is he already the best).

I'm not suprised at all at the turn away from Tennessee & towards LSU for preseason predictions. Once the season ended - people remembered Tennessee beating a Texas A&M team that was pretty solid. This made them look pretty good. People have since had time to look at how they played the rest of their games last season & how they managed to beat Florida (blown call) & Georgia/Texas A&M (let down performances by the opposite team, nothing spectacular by them), then how they barely managed to beat quite a few crappy teams.
On the other hand, there was LSU which just lost a hell of a bowl game & lost one hell of a coach, replaced by an unexpected & not particularly high profile coach after a somewhat dissapointing season (being that it followed the national championship & the team didn't play all that great). Then people start really analyzing what Miles was able to do at OSU - get more confident with him. Realize how young we were last year & how much talent we have returning - get alot more comfortable with that.

You nailed that one dead on.

LSU did finish strong and IF that last Iowa pass ... LSU would have finished in the Top 7, not #16. Tennessee played like crap down the stretch and, thanks to Auburn's pressing too much in the championship game, made a semi-run in the title game. The notion that Rick Clausen is a top flight SEC starting QB is absurd. Where did all this Gerald Riggs, Jr. love come from? He couldn't make the 2nd team at LSU, let alone start.

Great insight on the urunge plague.

Tennessee barely won almost all of their games and had a horrible secondary the entire year.

    They will go 8-3, imo

Yes, let the guy coach at least one game in a real conference before you crown him king. I'm not on the Meyer bandwagon just yet, I think there will be a big adjustment for him.

    1. DT Kyle Williams, Sr., LSU
This is a salary drive season as Williams should be a good, first day draft choice. He's tough and strong with a non-stop motor and good quickness on the interior. He'll make some All-America teams by the end of the season.

    rock on.

I'm not sure what some of you have been reading from CFN all along, but I always got the impression that they were high on us from the begginning. Even before all the previews and such, those guys always gave us credit for being one of the most talented teams out there and also gave us credit for being the fastest. Did I miss something??
