2. Mike Degory, Florida – Contrary to many of his peers, who rely heavily on their agility, Degory is a big, bruising presence in the center of the Gator front wall. He’s tough and smart, and a physical force, who won’t quit on a block until he hears the whistle. While he’s shown improvement, Degory is not an elite athlete, however, and can be a little inflexible, making him susceptible in pass protection, particularly on blitzes up the middle.
6. Rudy Niswanger, LSU – Niswanger is a walking intangible. He’s played every position on the line, makes great adjustments from the pivot and graduated with a peerless 4.0 GPA. Oh yeah, he’s also 6-5, plenty tough and coming off a year in which he seamlessly stepped in for eventual Rimington recipient Ben Wilkerson, and performed like an All-SEC player. Niswanger has his sights set on medical school, but the MCATs might have to wait until pro scouts get their chance to take his temperature.
