I just checked....it says LSU is in the Poulan-Weedeater Independence Bowl vs Notre Damn. wait, what year is this.
The Capitol One/Citrus Bowl usually does not take the loser of the SECCG since they do not want a team coming off a loss. That's why Tennessee went all those years when Florida was the East winner. Last year, they didn't think GTHOM would travel well, so they picked UGA. This year, Auburn would be too good a team to pass if they were available. Here's the recent past: Year SECCG Loser Citrus/Cap 1 SEC team 2003 UGA UGA 2002 Arkansas Auburn 2001 Tennessee Tennessee 2000 Auburn Auburn 1999 Florida Florida 1998 Miss State Arkansas 1997 Auburn Florida 1996 Alabama Alabama 1995 Arkansas Tennessee 1994 Alabama Alabama 1993 Alabama Tennessee 1992 Florida UGA That's only 6 out of 12 SECCG losers going to Orlando. For the 2004 Capitol One Bowl, it's down to Auburn or LSU. GEAUX TIGERS
mesquite, actually the Cap1 has the same "free reign" for their Big Ten pick. After the BCS/Rose takes the top 1 or 2 teams, the Cap1 gets to choose the B10 team of their choice. This year was pretty easy. Michigan and Iowa were conference "co-champs", but Meatchicken goes to Rose since they beat Iowa. Final Big Ten Standings http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/confstandings?confID=5 As for LSU's bowl fate, according to everything I have read/heard, KTeamLSU has it correct: If Auburn beats Tennessee: Sugar - Auburn Cap1 - LSU Outback - Jaw-juh Cotton - Tennessee If Tennessee beat Auburn: Sugar - Tennessee Cap One - Auburn Outback - Dawgs Cotton - LSU
