1. It's a great matchup. Should be fun if we end up there. LSU should find a way to win it, end up in the top 10 and be ready for next season briming with confidence.
  2. Have we ever played Iowa before?
  3. No, we have never played Iowa.
  4. The Capital One Bowl is just about assured to the SEC runner-up.

Probably Tennessee, unless they upset Auburn.

The winner of the SECCG will head to the Sugar Bowl. (BCS)

The real sticky part of the Bowl situation is the fact that South Carolina has said that they will not be accepting a bowl game bid because of the fight they had with Clemson.

The SEC may have some slot problems to deal with as South Carolina was the last of only 7 SEC teams this season that qualified for a bowl game. (usually 8 )

    Auburn
    LSU
    Tennessee
    Georgia
    Alabama
    Florida
    South Carolina

So....If you take South Carolina out...

    Sugar Bowl
    Capital One
    Outback Bowl
    Cotton Bowl
    Peach Bowl - Atlanta
    Music City - Nashville
    Shreveport
    Houston

The SEC is tied into more Bowls than teams available.
  5. All of which has been discussed.... UAB or Troy will probably pick up the Independence bowl....

Also as talked about before in the Forum Cap One had Georgia last year and wants a different team this year... Cotton doesnt want a 2002 rematch of Texas and LSU... So basically if Auburn beats Tennessee then they go to Sugar.... LSU goes to CapOne... Outback takes Georgia.... and Cotton gets Tennessee....

Now if Auburn loses then Tennessee to Sugar, Auburn to Cap One, LSU to Cotton, Georgia to Cap One, and Tennessee to Outback.
  6. Where do you get UT going if they lose? Have heard quite differently.

UT is not a hot team to see
  7. Tennessee is going to opt for the best payout. Cap One is at $5+ million.
(Iowa has already been offered the slot.)

Georgia and Texas may be the Cotton Bowls best match-up if they don't want an LSU-Texas rematch.

Texas is ranked at BCS #5 Georgia is at BCS # 8

LSU could end up at the Outback and play Wisconsin.
(Wisconsin has already been offered the slot)

Alabama and Florida at the Peach Bowl and Music City Bowl.
  8. Hello Georgia homer... :)

You know not what you speak in this situation. Capital One Bowl representatives have said that they are wanting to invite LSU to their bowl providing that Auburn wins the SEC Championship game as predicted.

IT IS NOT TENNESSEE'S OPTION TO CHOOSE THEIR BOWL. The only bowl tie-in for the SEC that is set in stone is that the SEC champ must get a BCS bowl. From SEC # 2 to SEC #8 are all objective according to the bowls choosing.

Usually the Capital One Bowl picks the loser of the SEC championship game because that team almost naturally has the second best record and national ranking in the SEC as well. However, this year with Tennessee likely losing in the SEC championship game, this will not be the case.

At this point, the Capital One Bowl makes an objective decision and chooses the team they feel better serves them. Guess what, it is not your Georgia Bulldogs, Homer. They want LSU this year.

Tennessee and Georgia fans can have fun at the Cotton and Outback bowls.
  9. The truth is, I really don't have a preference for any particular bowl game.

I went to the Cap One Bowl last year and I have never been to a Cotton Bowl. Personally, I wouldn't bother to go back to Orlando. (Cap One probably doesn't want the same team back to back as well)

But Tampa offers the best venue out of all three. Warm and Ybor City.

The Dallas weather sucks 10 out of 12 months a year.

It will be interesting to see how much influence Tennessee will try to level in this situation.
