Butch Davis

Just walked out of the Beau Rivage Casino about 30mins ago, and learned from a person (in the know) that prelim negotiations underway with Butch Davis.

Why Butch Davis? They want a "Big Name" with cache, that can continue the program without a hiccup.

There are arguably others who are as good as Butch in coaching and recruiting, and who would take the job for far less money, but, to a great deal, this is about PERCEPTION. (I totally agree)

If unforseen dealkiller happens, expect, Dennis Erickson. Expect a big name.

Frogleg is correct. It is now confirmed (according to Crawfish's sources) that they are in negotiations with Butch Davis!

I can't believe that anyone would doubt people named Crawfish and Frogleg.

 

And I heard it from my third cousin's wife's sister's dog-groomer's mistress's
sister, who happens to be a Jehovah's Witness assigned to his neighborhood, that Belichick is fed up w/ the Patriots and is flying down to accept the LSU job once Skip offers it.

The Butch Davis part sounds good to me. No thanks on Dennis Erikson. Rock on.

 

Stanley Jacobs, former LSU Board member and part of the last head coaching search (interviewed Davis and Saban) said on television tonight that "there would have been no Saban at LSU if Davis had said yes." If Davis wants the job now, he will get it.
