    FBI says rope had been in Talladega garage since last fall; Bubba Wallace not victim of hate crime
  2. But of course, these things aren’t noticed or notable until one looks for them with bias. So far exercise ropes, garage door pull ropes, and twine tied to a tree are racist symbols. We have a lot to do in this world to remove tie-able things from our lives.

  4. I wonder if every ESPN personality will now line up to apologize for jumping to conclusions conclusions the way they lined up to express their outrage.
  5. As of 6:10 pm, the NYT and CNN gave the door pull story a very small headline and stuck it pretty far down the page of their e-editions.

    WAPO to its credit, gave the story a larger headline and a "Breaking News" banner.
