be honest, most believed he was the second coming at the start of the season. last year he was excellent given the situation with the michelin man taking over and the team overachieving on both ends.

LSU d had a decent night, nothing memorable really, yet

    Brady Quinn, 15/35 149 yds, 2TD, 2INT

there's your first choice in the NFL draft. how about all the unforced passes, passes out of fear or into coverage when he should have thrown the ball away.

yet never a mention of how inaccurate this guy is or how flustered he gets which he has done all year. but i forget most people dont actually watch the games. most people are parrots. I heard Paul Mcgwire drool over JR's arm while the other guy follows up with "even if he doesnt know where its going most of the time". Umm ok check the qb efficiency stats which includes 4 top 10 teams on the road. quinn plays against the service academy circuit yet worse stats.

Then I hear during the broadcast, "in two years brady quinn will be the 3rd best QB in the NFL". i almost lost my lunch.

ok so theres tom brady and peyton. quinn will be the next in line while jamarcus is not only wrongly labeled inaccurate but stupid? hes an academic honor roll student.

Quinn will be lucky to be the 3rd best rookie qb. i dont hate bq, i think hes a good qb but I do notice the bias which is absolutely ridiculous.

many fans complain about team bias in the media. step back and compare quinn with jamarcus or brian brohm or even colt brennan. thats where the real bias lies and most here have drank the kool-aid. i suggest watching the games from a more objective vantage point.

is JR perfect? not even close. good as there is in college today? you better believe it.

sorry if you fail to see it.

i was stunned, that was ludicrous.

across the nation, rational football fans everywhere spewed out a very long list of guys who are at a level quinn will never reach. carson palmer, brees, matt hasselback, chad pennington, the list goes on and on. (jamarcus russell)

that was what fat phil 2.0(come on we call him everything else!) told the fox guys, that brady would be the 3rd best in the NFL...wasnt their opinion.

only game he looked ok in was the USC game of the big time teams he played. and he was all of 22-46 for 275 and 3 td's in that one. but hes accurate and JR isnt...heh

oddly enough the best unit for ND in the LSU game was the OLine. he had all day to pass.

Brady Quinn has pretty much carried the ND offense the last two years. He's got all the tools for the NFL, and been trained by one of the best offensive minds in the game.

I think that should be the reason for concern among the NFL types. He's had great tutelage under Weis, yet still doesn't look very good against good defenses.

I was also struck by the number of passes that were just terrible. He missed one guy that was NOT MOVING. He got flustered by an average pass rush, and seemed to shrink away from the big moment.

3rd best in the NFL? That was a Domer Pumping classic. That means he'd be better than Carson Palmer and Drew Brees. What a classic line.

JR showed everything an NFL team would want to see. Ridiculous accuracy and strength. Great, fast reads. An ability to put the team on his back. Calm and composure when ND tied the game. The list goes on and on. The media hitched their wagon to the wrong guy.

    Great thread.

I've never seen what everyone else apparently 'sees' with BQ (much as I don't see what Phat Phil sees in Ainge).

The guy doesn't play 'up' in big games, doesn't have much of an arm, isn't all that accurate (especially on the run), and seems to get flustered easily.

I think people just got all warm and fuzzy because the guy learned Weis' playbook fairly quickly, but it takes more than a sponge for a brain to be a great QB, and I doubt Quinn will be as good Eli in a few years.

When I see Quinn, I see Joey Harrington Jr.

That was my first full game watching BQ this year. And I wasn't impressed. We did not get good pressure on him in the first half and he just plain was not accurate. A NFL QB must be on target with his throws and BQ was not. I cannot see him as the best QB in the April draft.

He's a nice young man and a solid qb but he has to be the most overrated QB in history......seriously.
