Good afternoon Tiger fans!!! Thought yall might find this interesting...

John Thompson, former defensive coordinator at Arkansas, South Carolina, LSU (for 3 weeks), and others has accepted the Defensive Coordinator position at :eek:lefire: for a reported 3 year, $1.1 million contract. This comes 6 months after he accepted the athletic director at the school that I work at (University of Central Arkansas), saying that he, his wife and children would be planting "deep roots" at his alma mater.

Thompson coached Oregeron at Northwestern State.

The Memphis Commercial Appeal reported it around 1:30 today.

I guess Coach O couldn’t do it all.

Thompson served as defensive coordinator at Northwestern State (1983-86, 1988-89), Louisiana Tech (1990-91), Southern Miss (1992-98), Memphis (1999), (almost LSU), Arkansas (2000-01), Florida (2002) and South Carolina (2005). He also was the head coach at East Carolina for two seasons before resigning in 2004 after posting a horrible record. :dis:
