Billy Cannon had some ethical detours. Not sure how much we should embrace the legend over the reality..

 

Embrace Billy Cannon the man, not the legend. After his legal troubles he worked hard to rebuild his image and did a lot of good works. I have heard severel interviews with Cannon's former teammates who had been good friends with him since their college days and the all spoke as highly of Cannon the person as they did Cannon the player.

 

The man did his penance.

 

I could do without a statue.
