I disagree. After the "Culture of Corruption" rhetoric the Dems need to flex muscle with thier own.

We were already slated to lose a seat before Katrina. The question then becomes whether we lose two. The lagging return of people to the city may very well cost the state an additional seat. There is no way we can have a black majority district if we lose two seats. I would love to be a fly on the wall during the MMA battle that will be redistricting. :D

They could flex their muscle by removing him from any committee positions, and by pressuring him to resign.

Blacks are much less open-minded than whites when it comes to inter-racial elections. Blacks are far less likely to vote for a white person who is running against a black person, than whites are likely to vote for a black person running against a white person. i.e. Landreau ran against Nagan in the last N.O. mayor's race. Yet blacks overwhelmingly voted for Nagan dispite his pitiful performance since Katrina. Yet, in Baton Rouge Kip Holden won the election with strong support from the white community. Those are just two examples. Blacks vote for Blacks. Period. It does not matter if he/she is a criminal; so long as the candidate is black. That's all that matters.
