He had one hell of a game a couple weeks ago on Thanksgiving day. He also had the game clinching play/run in overtime during that game against the Cowboys.
Yea, that run was awesome. Damn Terence Newman for stealing the glory from him! However, I don't like Dayne as much now that he dropped so many pounds. It's like the debate of Big Luther v. Little Luther. Big Luther could sing better than Little Luther. Big Dayne would have carried Newman into the endzone. Of course, he might not have gotten that far as Big Dayne, but the dude had speed for a big man. I thought he was gonna be like the Tecmo Bowl hero Christian Okoye, but it never happened.
What about Charlie Ward from FSU, hell he went play another sport, because he wasn't expected to do anything in the NFL.
The offense used his scrambling/running to the best of his abilities. This is a great sample of a coach structuring his offense around his present talent rather then trying to "mold" players into what the system needs. I feel basketball was his best sport, therefore he was not a "bust" as a Heisman. In college, he was a leader in both sports. In professional, the quality of opposition catches up quickly.
Desmond Howard.... He had 1 good game his entire career... (even though that game was the biggest game of his career) Many thought he was going to be a great WR....
Speaking only of winners since the late 80s, Gino Toretta is pretty hard to beat. Speaking solely of a winner's inability to make it in the NFL, then Charlie Ward is the biggest bust, since he never played a day in the NFL, opting for the NBA instad (good move on his part).
What about Tommie Frazier and/or Lawrence Phillips from Nebraska? Im sure one or both of them won it and neither amounted to much.
I hate to admit it, and I truly hate USC, But he is the best college football player .....period in the last 10 years, and maybe even longer. I have seen the guy play in person, and he is special. My delima is as much as I hate USC....I really hate those T-sips at UT. They are by for the most arrogant %^%$suckers in the world. Maybe their will be a major earthquake during the Rose Bowl, just like at the World seies in the early 90's. USC will win, and we will be forced to listen to the bul$%^ three-peat talk.
