Has anyone made a comprehensive list of the games left that affect the BCS rankings of USC, Texas, Penn St, and LSU (since those are the only teams we really care about)? I always find it fun to watch a random game that has some (though usually small) bearing on LSU’s future. UPDATE (I took things into my own hands): LSU needs the first team in every game to win below: Starting with the most obvious “first person games” UCLA vs. USC Texas A&M vs. Texas (BAD) LSU vs. Arkansas (GOOD) LSU vs. Georgia Colorado vs. Texas “Second person games” Georgia vs. GT (GOOD) Arizona St vs. Arizona (GOOD) Tennessee vs. Kentucky (GOOD) Florida vs. FSU (GOOD) North Texas vs. Arkansas St (BAD) App St vs. Lafayette (GOOD) (some computers don’t care but others do) App St vs. Southern Illinois *** App St has more games due to the playoff “Third person games” SDCU vs. Hawaii LSU vs. Arkansas (GOOD) Nevada vs. Fresno St (GOOD) La Tech vs. Fresno St (my hometown team, baby) ULM vs. ULL (BAD) (never thought these teams would matter) Houston vs. Rice (GOOD) Nebraska vs. Colorado (GOOD) Iowa St vs. Kansas (BAD) UCONN vs. USF (GOOD) UWV vs. USF Rutgers vs. Cincinnati (GOOD) Wisconsin over Hawaii (USC SOS down; Penn St SOS up)
There are some other more minor games but here is the summary of the most important: This weekend: Georgia beats GTech Florida beats FSU In 2 weeks: FSU beats VTech I am fairly convinced LSU needs all 3 of these games to fall our way in order for us to pass Penn State in the BCS standings. Then of course we need the miracle of all miracles, which is a UT or USC loss. In addition, LSU needs to beat Arkansas like they are a PAC-10 team, and then do to Georgia exactly what we did to them in the 2003 SEC CG......tear em a new rectum.....Harris poll MUST give us back the votes we lost this past weekend to Penn State (for whatever reason that was, still at a loss to explain it)...there are about 3 dozen Harris voters who all of a sudden think Penn State is the 3rd ranked team in the nation
Also... LSU needs Tennessee to beat UK Zona St. to beat Zona North Texas to beat Ark St to strengthen our own schedule strength To weaken Penn St's Rutgers over Cinci Uconn over South Florida
nicely done......it may very well be that almost all of these games have to go LSU's way.....Harris Poll kicked us in the ass this past weekend unfortunately
Oh, and Western Michigan needs to beat Northern Illinois in the epic battle of interstate directional schools tomorrow! Geesh, this system is so stoopid!
I was playing with the Colley Matrix "add game" feature and found that we basically can't move up. UCLA over USC Texas A&M over Texas LSU over Arkansas LSU over Georgia Colorado over Texas We go from #8 to #8! WTF? I'm losing faith. I'm too much of a realist.
