1. Until we have a playoff it will continue to be a popularity contest and not an unbiased ranking of teams based on play on the field. As long as it is a popularity contest expect the usual suspects to be butt kissed to death.
  2. I think islstl's right. Kinda makes you wish all this scheduling 20 years out could stop. But it won't.
  3. That's an excellent point because before this year (and who knows--maybe every year AFTER this year) having Rutgers on our schedule would've been considered a joke along the lines of La. Tech, Tulane, and ULL.
  4. Would someone please beat wisconsin...it really annoys me to see them ahead of us up there.
  5. Their last game is against Buffalo. Don't hold your breath.
  6. I'm starting to get the feeling we're going to beat somebody's ass real good in a bowl game.
  7. There needs to be a Congressional investigation into why Rutgers can possibly be ranked No. 2 in the Computer Polls. I comprehend that they beat Louisville on the road. Must be that big Navy win that's blowing them up, or maybe beating the Fighting Zook's. Look at all the impressive wins they have.

    Opponent / Result
    North Carolina Won 21-16
    Illinois Won 33-0
    Ohio Won 24-7
    Howard Won 56-7
    South Florida Won 22-20
    Navy Won 34-0
    Pittsburgh Won 20-10
    Connecticut Won 24-13
    Louisville Won 28-25
    Cincinnati 6:45pm
    Syracuse TBA
    West Virginia TBA

I doubt Rutgers will be able to sustain their momentum to beat WVA. By that point in the season, the pressures of trying to remain unbeaten will be too much to absorb for a young program that hasn't been there before. I think this situation will resolve itself.

USC will handle ND at home at the end of the season, and I expect Cal to have a chip after dropping a game to Zona. Hopefully they all beat each other to close out the season, leaving a sh!tpot full of 2 loss teams.

I think the best thing we can hope for at this point is for us to win out, Florida to blast Arky in the SECCG, throw in some additional Top 10 losses like ND to USC, and USC to Cal, and UF play for the MNC. That gives us the best shot to get into a BCS game, and puts two SEC teams in the BCS, with one in the MNC.

Rest assured that the media, led my our own ESPN darling Lou Holtz, will do all they can to see that Brady Quinn and ND get into a BCS game, which means that even with a late season loss to USC, they will not drop low enough in the polls to oust them from their contractual bid.
  8. I'll even go as far to say that Rutgers will cave under the pressure this weekend at Cincinnati. Cincy is not a terrible team, by Big Least standards. A perfect trap game for Rutgers.
  9. Because they have not lost a game and they are in a BCS conference.

    Plain and simple.

I guess Ohio State's schedule must be piss poor. Doesn't help that the Big 10 is awful this year. I don't think they played Wisconsin, which is a big reason they are not #2, at a minimum, in the computer polls.
