Re: Arky Talent vs. Bama Talent i agree as well. stopping mcfadden will be key for bama, but i'm not sure they can do it. They are going to be very disciplined. They are tough and they have a lot of confidence going right now. They play a very aggressive style on defense. It’s going to be really important that we execute in all areas offensively, relative to being able to run the ball effectively and pass the ball effectively, and we will get a lot of man-to-man coverage. So, it is important that everybody do their job and we have to a good job or protecting, because we are going to get a lot of pressure." (from the rolltide website.) it's going to be a good test for both teams. i think it will be a close game with Arkansas pulling out on top.
Not really an analytical observation (I’ll let others discuss the teams position by position) but this will be the first time Arkansas faces a Saban coached team early in the season. My untrained observation has been that, like many or most teams, Arkansas has generally appeared stronger as the season progressed – same with Saban’s LSU teams. Anyway, an early season match up between teams coached by Nutt (second game) and Saban (third game) will be interesting and the outcome may be surprising.
I can't come close to thinking the way CBS thinks...but, my thoughts are this. Who gets a better draw? Bama vs UGA LSU vs USC. The USC ingredient is what makes me think that even with a 2-1 Bama team vs a UGA team wins out. While we pay attn. to South Carolina and Spurrier, I don't think the nation cares about South Carolina. Spurrier, sure. But enough to watch what should easily be a blow-out? No. Either way, both are nationally televised games.
