yep, were are overdue for another 3,000 yard passing season. we've only had 4 in LSU history:

bhelmLSU - I mean I don't know about that theory, but I did not watch AJ's stats this year all I saw was he dropped way down on everyone's board as far as a recruit goes. I subscribe into the theory that it doesn't matter how good your WR's are if you don't have a QB that is consistent the numbers are not going to look good. Rueben Randle is a perfect example, I think we can all agree he is a stud receiver but 2010 numbers were ok but underperformed as far as his talent goes. In 2011 his numbers were great which has everything to do with who was QB in the first 8 games "mostly Lee" when RR had 638 yds of his 917 total yards or 70% of his yardage came in the games with Lee playing. Or another way to look at it was in the 6 games that JJ was the starting QB "I also including Bama because he played most of the game" RR averaged 47 yds per game. In the 8 games that JL started RR averaged 80 yds per game. Come on right there it shows you the WR will only be as good as the QB is throwing the football.

I am assuming that probably happened to AJ. The problem is if we don't have someone who can get the ball to our receivers it does not matter how good they are. I think everyone posting feels we have under-utilized our talent at WR for the past 3 years "thanks a lot JJ" and we actually saw what our receivers could do when JL was QB-ing this year and are excited to see what Mett can do next year. I truly can't wait to see OB, RS & JL next year I truly believe they are going to have a special year if Miles will actually let go of the freaking reins on Offense and let his OC's call a game plan to utilize their talent.

That is my hope as well.

However, the week of practices leading up to the All-star game he also had issues and didn't see the field much. QBs weren't a problem there but maybe a slump after dealing with QB issues all year.

I think he has a chance to be a great one as he develops. He was a big play machine earlier in his HS days. In college he will have to become more of a possession type WR IMO. Doesn't have elite speed and fairly tall.
