I made the trip down--and one of my friends from Boston (he's a converted Tiger fan :thumb: ) was in town for only his 2nd game in Tiger Stadium (his first was the Ole Miss game in '04) and while he was excited to be in TS, he was pretty bummed that it wasn't more attended and I while I understand why some people didn't go, I was still a little bummed myself.

I know it poured like crazy...and it wasn't a conference game...but there's no question: TS with the stands full is so much more fun.

Everyone that went to the game are much bigger and better fans than those of us that didn't attend. Congratulations.

You also have to realize that in games like this people usually buy tickets to bring kids or first timers. I'm guessing parents didn't want to deal with the children in the rain. LSU also has alot of older Alum like my granfather that don't want to take the chance at getting pneumonia. However, both my pregnant wife and I were in attendance so I don't want to hear any of these lame excuses.

I think it is the lightning delay that hurt attendance, not the rain. An hour before kickoff we were tailgaiting under a tent in a blowing lightning storm with the radio already saying that there would be a lightning delay to start the game and the radar showing nothing but red between Lafayette and Baton Rouge.

Some of the people in our group packed it in and went home to a dry TV. These are people that I know have sat to the end in many rain games watching the Tigers. But they weren't going to sit in the rain for a hour and a half of lightning delay. Some of them were soaked and it was getting chilly.

For years everybody did fine without the lightning rule and they just played football in the rain. I miss it.

I don't ever recall a player or fan getting struck by lightning in any stadium. I'm sure it had to happen somewhere over the years, but I can't recall one incident. You?

Oh well, we live in a time when people must protect us from us ... oh wait, wrong forum!
