The game was a foregone conclusion. We beat bad teams, and lose to good teams. Why bother going? Just so we can learn stuff? If my options were getting rained on or watching the game on TV with beer, the decision seems unusually obvious.
My wife I went to the game and we sat through the entire thing soaked. I'm already feeling sick and I know I won't be feeling any better tomorrow. I was hoping for more fans than what were there but I totally understand someone not wanting to get sick.
I made the Fresno players sick when me and my friend Tiger baited them when they came off the bus. I started to say they were tiny because we were both bigger than most of them. SO we started to say they were coming off the special bus. Pre-game is so fun.
Congrats to all the diehards who stayed at the game tonight. i was out there to whole game. it was brutal in the beginning
On TV. 8:OO start. Over matched team we were favored to beat by our regular crappy team margin. Rain Storms If the recruits don't know what tiger stadium is all about then they ain't interested in coming. Recruits that will stay at LSU follow LSU through out their years and know why the crowd wasn't in the stadium.
Your theory holds up for LA recruits, but not out of state recruits. For out of state recruits like John Brown from Lakeland Florida (who was there last night and is teammates with Jordan Hammond, LSU commit) who hear all about LSU's incredible atmosphere and what is like to play in Tiger Stadium are probably really dissapointed in a game like that with no crowd... My initial point really wasn't about the recruits, but more to say that it sucked. I went to a Notre Dame game once in South Bend against a bad West Virginia team. It was a downpour, the weather was bad. But everyone stayed through hell and high water and watched ND beat the mess out of WV. Now I don't like Notre Dame, but I will say it's dissapointing that the second bad weather hits against a less than stellar opponent, the stadium empties...Just my personal opinion...
last night I took my son to his first LSU game, and we braved the lightening and hard rain to see it all....the band coming down the hill and everything....stayed until 00:00 as well. But, I will say I totally understand why people left as it did appear the game might be delayed for several hours at one point in the afternoon due to the lightening.
We left the Parade Grounds at about 8pm when it started to let up. By the time we got to our seats, the band was taking the field for pre-game, and by the time the game started, there were only a few drizzles. I basically took my poncho off when I got to my seats, and stayed dry for the entire game.
