How about a coach with a .568 win percentage, 42-32 overall in sec regular season games, including a 20-6 record over the last two years for a .769 sec win percentage? and an overall win percentage of .634 (92-53 overall record)? How long would he last?
Lets now see his overall win % over non conference teams unranked. 80?90%? Is that why his overall % is so high.....hmmmm
I can see that guy sticking around. But you can't just pick out a couple of years. Im not saying fire the guy right now. Lets see what he can do with this talent he's got now. But I don't see any proof that he's done anything here at LSU worth talking about. I wonder why sabanfan hasnt commented on my previous post though... I KNOW he reads everything posted on here.
You were demanding people answer your question earlier. So, answer my question. How long would a coach last with the stats I gave? - .568 win percentage, 42-32 overall in sec regular season games, including a 20-6 record over the last two years for a .769 sec win percentage - an overall win percentage of .634, 92-53 overall record
.568 win pct... that's 6-5 every year. Including your app state and north texas games. Not good enough. .634 win pct... that's still 6-5... You're picking out bits and peices of his resume. You have to look at his whole career at LSU. Also, it doesnt matter if he goes 10-3 every year in the sec (took half of 20-6) the guy still hasn't won anything in the post season. So in answer to your question, no I don't think .568 is good enough overall (considering at least 8 of those games every year are against cupcakes) and im not sure where you're getting 92-53...? lsusports.net has him at 140-102 at lsu 54-74 in the sec...?
I was just curious what your thoughts were. Unlike the thread starter, you are able to dicuss things with a sense of rationality. Those numbers I gave are Brady's numbers during the years he has been coaching without limitations (post-probation with a full allotment of scholarships and recruiting visits). To me, it is not fair to criticize him for a ".422 win percentage in the conference" when a few years of that was under the most dire of circumstances due to the NCAA death penalty style probation. During those years since the probation, this program has steadily been on the rise. Last year was the first really promising year of SEC play. This year is shaping up to be another fine year of sec play. Nobody here will say that they expected LSU to lose to UAB last year. As I said it was indeed a huge disappointment. Looking at the bigger picture, things are looking up. Setting that one game aside (for now until we are able to judge him on this year's post-season as well), the program is in overall good shape. Of course Brady *should* be judged on his post-season success. This year's post-season play will definitely be telling. Some people need to wake up and smell the coffee though - not referring to you. LSU basketball is doing quite well and these kids are fun to watch. Let the NCAA tourney come when it does, but in the meantime this team AND coach deserve our support.
The team has my support. But when a coach throws in a towel (on numerous occasions) when the team can still win its tough to support him.
