For those (like Kajunsausage and Olvenicedog) that either think only football determines an entire athletic department or that the only sports that matter are football, baseball and men's basketball, I just wanted to point out that currently, LSU! has:

And that's not counting football in which we finished 5th/6th in the polls.

What some people (Kajunsausage) fail to realize, is that Skip Bertman is NOT just the "The Man" for football, baseball and basketball. As AD, he's in charge of ALL SPORTS, and for ANYONE to say that Skip needs to go when he's over seeing 9 sports teams that are nationally ranked, is just plain STUPID!

    "Skip needs to leave..."

    "Skip needs to fire fill-in-the-blank.."

Well, to judge an AD, you CAN'T do it based on one or two MEN's sports....it needs to be done as a whole, or not at all. And from my perspective, someone please give me a list of AD's that wouldn't want to be in Skip's position? ...if your name is Kajunsausage or Olvenicedog, that question is damn near impossible to answer because in answering it, he would have to research women's sports--something that they obviously either have a problem with, or simply just don't care enough about....

Track and Field, Softball, Tennis, Gymnastics...

I am glad that someone pointed out that LSU does excel in other sports besides men's basketball, football, and baseball! Credit needs to be given where it is due!

Some people fail to realize the athletic department as a whole just because they personally don't like one or more of the less popular sports.

It wouldn't matter to me if LSU had a tiddlywinks team, or maybe a underwater marble stacking, I would still be a LSU fan, and it wouldn't matter to me if they were good or not at it.

We say it in Mississippi a lot when it comes to grades in college, if a person is getting all a's you say something like "what classes do you take, basket weaving or underwater marble stacking. It is just a joke around here.
