Most Bama fans would rather blame the process (Fulmer, the NCAA, etc, etc, etc) than to ever admit there was actual wrongdoing by their beloved Tide. Maybe, just maybe, the Alabama Administration's similar attitude is what led to the harshness of the sanctions handed down by the NCAA to begin with ......... but I have a suspicion that it was simply a long legacy finally catching up to a program that no longer had the power-broker to make it disappear, as he did so many times before.
