There are still 10,00-15,000 American citizens in Afghanistan with no way out. PPPPPPP. Obviously didn’t happen here. There is no defending this shit show.
If they were in Kabul maybe. Most are scattered throughout the country and it isn’t the US or Europe. It would take time to get back under the best circumstances. Also they were assured by the President that this wouldn’t happen.
if you are an american that lives in a place like afghanistan, you shouldnt put down roots. you should basically have a backpack and enough cash for an exit ready at all times. you shouldnt be trying to find a realtor to put your house on the market. you should already be gone. this was predicable. if you are with an NGO or contractor, they should have seen this coming and facilitated your exit. if you are on your own, like an english teacher or whatever out in the sticks, you should have gotten your backpack and left weeks ago. also i dont think ameicans are really getting killed, i think they are scared and leaving but not really getting massacred or anything.
