No, dont be done with the thread, I actually see your point, my grandfather was on the beach at Normandy and I am most proud of that myself. So I definitely see your point.

In your original post you mentioned Obama and Hillary, not McCain. And IMO, Obama's misstatement doesn't begin to approach McCain's flip flops. One is an honest mistake (I could see myself making the mistake if all the stories I heard were that grampa was a part of taking down an unspecified concentration camp... specific details aren't always parlayed in family lore) and the other is an honest attempt at deception.

Man, you're really stretching to find fault with Obama. Is that the best you got? He confused Auschwitz with Buchenwald?

The guy has been speaking publicly every day for a year and a half. If that's the worst factual error he's made, I'm impressed.

Well then you'd think with all that practice he won't make these mistakes.

    Insert W joke here...

Come on Red, stretching? All I have to do is turn on the TV or radio and I find fault with him. That isn't what this was about and somehow I had to have worded it all wrong. I agree with NONE of his polotics. This was something else and while it's not so much an intentional "lie" its a misquote of facts, history however you want to catagorize it is up to you. I just think he should have known better is all. I was not voting for him long before this happened.
