Not a "rule" but it might as well be.

The rule is that they are in as 8 or higher and are eligible at 14 or higher. Because of how well they travel and their national recognition etc. they are always chosen when eligible.

No, according to the BCS website, http://www.bcsfootball.org/bcsfb/eligibility ,
    read the rule No. 4:

    4. Notre Dame will have an automatic berth if it is in the top eight of the final BCS Standings.

Therefore, as of this moment, ND is out of automatic qualification. But the media is pushing for them to come so that they can get viewers.

Anyone think we'll be ranked number 5 in the coaches' poll tomorrow? We should be.

Numbers's 5, 6, and 7 lost. We are presently number 8. Not to mention, we beat number 5.

Thats the rule for anyone actually, not just ND.

ND just gets an extra clause that says they must be selected if they finish in the top 8. No one else qualifies for this clause. Technically it's a clause for any Independent school. Last I checked ND would have the only chance for meeting that criteria, however (Army, Navy, Temple are only other 3 indy's left).

True, but they're the only ones listed by name on the BCS eligibility web site. How sickening is it that? I realize it's because they don't belong to a conference, but I still think it's ridiculous to have them listed BY NAME as having a guarranteed spot if certain conditions are met; especially when you consider that they were ranked way higher then they should've been and only had two good teams on their schedule - losing both. Pure BS

The only highlight of the LSU/ArKANSAS game was Mcfaddens big run. It's a conspiracy I tell you. The POSTH (Piece Of **** Talking Heads) just said that Florida was to beat up to beat ArKANSAS also. What, he doesn't think the pigs are a little beat up after playing us?

It sounds like your 82 year old grandpa has all his senses. I hope I can say the same in thirty years. This hole Rose Bowl selection sounds crazy. How is it that LSU can get so little respect. DId we not lose to Arbun 7-3 in a game we should have won. And then lose to Florida 23-10 after committing 5 turnovers and doing everything possible to give the Gators the game. What the Hell is the deal with these idiots at ABC and ESPN. Being a moron must be part of the Job Description.

Well we'll see in a few hours, as soon as Hawaii finishes 10-2 and the AP comes out.
