1.) This college football season has gone by so fast. It is my favorite time of year. I wish they would extend the season to 12 games every year and that way teams would have an extra game to go and play someone outside of their comfort zone. Extra revenue to the schools. 2. ) I go into a slight depression after the bowl games because basketball just doesnt do it for me anymore. The pro game is rediculous. No defense and just a bunch of people running up and down dunking the ball. If you want to make it interesting again lets move the goal up to 12 feet. 3. ) Lets set a salary cap at 100,000 a player in pro sports and bring the ticket prices down. 4.) I will never boycott the tigers but i say fans of Professional Sports should pick 1 pro football weekend and a couple of Pro Basketball games and all boycot due to prices of Parking, Tickets, Concessions. What they charge at these events for concessions is crazy. When did fans put signs on their backs and say rape me every time i want to get some water or a drink, or a Hot Dog or Sandwich. 5.) Media Crap. I am so sick of the media in almost every thing they do. The AP Polls are nothing but popularity contests. Some sportswriter who knows nothing about what he writes speculates and then others start printing it as if it is real news. Coach Saban is signing with the Cleveland Browns. Yeah rite and The San Francisco area is 90% republican. 6.) Thanks to Marcus Randal for being a good person. I for one has questioned his decisions as far as quarterbacking goes but you can not deny he has handled himself with class and dignity. Thanks Marcus. We could all learn from you on how to handle yourself in a tough situation. Well i am off my soap box but the end of the season is always a time to look back and i am very thankfull we have a Great University to pull for and win or lose LSU brings a lot of joy into many lives. Geaux LSU Tigers
Great post and I agree with all of it, especially the aprt about Pro sports. I cannot watch any professional sport and I tend to turn off the TV if I catch myself watching.
GREAT POST! You nailed it on every point. I couldn't agree more. This time of year is the highest of highs and then WHAM the second week of January it is the lowest of lows. Post Bowl depression. I have almost completely given up on pro sports, which is a shame since I live in Houston, where there are three major pro sports franchises and a minor league hockey team (not that I give a rat's a$$ about hockey anyway).
I pretty much have the same attitude about pro sports, although I am looking forward to seeing Peyton Manning outdoors in Pittsburgh or New England in January. Hopefully it will be just as enjoyable as it was last year.
