A far reach, but....

Do you think it's possible that LSU played the defensive game according to how those PAC-10 teams are used to seeing it played, on purpose? Maybe so as not to let the rest of the country see exactly what it is we're doing on Defense. I mean, every team on our schedule is thinking "LSU has no defense this year, this will be somewhat easier than we expected."...

It seems rather silly but on the other hand.... Imagine Tennessee's suprise when they come to Tiger Stadium expecting that soft defense, and get the real deal instead...

Granted, I know this probably isn't the case. Az. State was too good of a team to risk a loss with, just to throw off future opponents. That would be like... comparable to faking a punt out of our own endzone or something.... :hihi: Who would ever do that? It's those types of insane stunts that completely break teams..... or make them legends.

I dunno... just a thought... It will be really interesting to me to see how Az. State scores on USC's defense. I'm just thinkin it's way too early to be so sure that our defense is weak this year. It certainly was weaker than I like to see it in that game, but that my not be indicitave of how we play the whole season.

Maybe if we had played like we did in the first quarter all game. Yes, that entire one defensive stand. However, it didn't work and should have been changed.

I'm sorry, did you not see that part?

    Thanks for the non-sarcastic reply.

Agreed... I know this wasn't the case and that if something's not working, you move on to what is. This thread was just a break-away from the bashing and negativity in here. You'd think we lost 77-0 or something by the way some of the people are posting here.

We are our worst critics. Especially in this situation because the nation is giving us extra credit because of our extra adversities (I say our... Louisiana in general).... We aren't phased by it any more.

Yep, you're right. We are definately our toughest critics. Which to me, is a good thing.... I mean believe me, I was creating new curse phrases during the game, but at the same time, I was the guy that everyone hates because I kept telling everyone, "Don't worry... We'll pull this one out.", and they were getting angry with me about it. But of course, when we won the game they didn't have much to say.

My philosophy is this... If we're a #5 team going into the game, regardless of how sloppy we play, we find a way to win it. If not, there's no reason for us to be #5 in the first place. LSU did what very few other teams can do, and as much as we call it luck, LSU has a tendency to do that very same thing over the last couple of years... Against more than just a few opponents.

It's good to be a Tiger.
