1. I guess Rivals is going to release the 5 star guys tomorrow. Al Woods should be one of them, Tillman probably won't, but he should be close. Here is how I would rank our prospects:

    Al Woods, DT *****
    Marcus Tillman, DE ****
    Jacob Cutrera, LB ****
Matt Allen, OG **** (Could be ***)
    Anthony Boudreaux, OT ****
Lazarius Livingston, DE *** (For now at least)

I don't think any other Louisiana players will be a 5 star player. Dixon, Eugene, and Washington should be close though.
  2. That's unfortunate that Tillman didn't make it to 5, but he's still got time to improve...and I've never been a star watcher anyway. More 1-3 star players are pros than 4-5s.
  3. Just saw on rivals that Woods is, in fact, a 5-star.
  4. Here are the 5 star guys this year:

    Mitch Mustain, QB
    Matthew Stafford, QB
    Tim Tebow, QB
    Demarco Murray, RB
    Lesean McCoy, RB
    Chris Wells, RB
    David Ausberry, WR
    Percy Harvin, WR
    Vidal Hazelton, WR
    Carl Johnson, OT
    Stephen Schilling, OT
    Sam Young, OT
    Antonio Logan-El, OG
    Andre Smith, OG
    Eddie Jones, DE
    Gerald McCoy, DT
    Al Woods, DT
    Brandon Graham, ILB
    Sergio Kindle, ILB
    Marcus Ball, OLB
    Allen Bradford, OLB
    Darrin Walls, CB
    Stafon Johnson, S
    Reshad Jones, S
    Jamar Hornsby, ATH
    Taylor Mays, ATH
    Myron Rolle, ATH

As it stands right now, it looks like we would only end up with one 5 star guy. We have an outside shot at Andre Smith, but if he goes out of state it would be a suprise to many.
  5. qb Mustain.. could rock out to some Megadeath!
  6. So we've only got 1 or 2 kids on the list of 5 star athletes that are considering LSU?

Doesn't that seem to be a little low of a number??
  7. The overall number of 5-star athletes is low, so naturally the ones considering LSU are low... RIvals and Scout will invent some 5-stars during the next football season...
  8. The number of 5 star guys is always about 30. I think some guys will drop and some will rise, but the total number should be about the same. This of course does not include juco's.
  9. About 5 or 6 guys on that list have LSU as a school of interest, but I don't think we really have a shot at them, so I didn't include them. I figure at least one guy in Louisiana (either Dixon, Eugene, Murphy, or Scott) is going to have a huge enough season to warrant a 5 star ranking. We should probably pick up one JUCO guy who is a 5-star. I'd say that in the end we'll end up with 2 5-star guys, about 14 4-star players, and 4 or 5 3-star guys to round out the class. That'll put us in the top 5.
  10. out of curiosity,

how are you coming up with those predictions so early in the recruiting season?

Alot will happen b/w now and then.
