I still don't know why they don't do the spring game at night. We would probably get a lot more people to show up and it wouldn't be so miserablely hot. I mean, today it was only like 80 degrees but I felt like I was about to die sitting out there.
I am glad we ended on a good note heading into fall practice. Found some leaders and establishing some strong depth on both sides of the ball. I am excited to see that Beckwith was the leading tackler yesterday with 2 tackles behind the line. One might have been a sack. I hear the Vols had a horrible second scrimmage with tons of drops, INTs, and scoring only one TD. I know Ainge is still out but the Vols might stumble out of the gate again next year.
Who are these Vols? I have heard mention of them once or twice before. I can't seem to recollect where I may have heard of them before...
Our spring game is embarrassing. I love going and have a great time, but it doesnt compare to other schools. I think we are missing out on a great chance to really impress recruits.
i went but only stayed until halftime. the two plays that impressed me the most was doucet's fade route when he took the ball from the defender for a TD and trindon's steal of a catch and cross field run. d-line looked great (surprise!!) and i really liked the play of jai eugene. neither flynn nor perriloux impressed me, but maybe i'm just used to JR. flynn definitely is ahead of RP. matt had a few good balls and a few bad ones. he ran well, but a few times he seemed to look at one receiver and then take off. i guess it doesn't help with our D breathing down your neck. all in all the spring game was worth the $1 i paid for it. does anyone know the extent of curtis taylor's injury? at least i thought that's who went down in the 1st half.
I'm sorry that someone stole your ice cream cone, but considering that it was basically a glorified scrimmage for us anal-retentive fans, I thought they did a good job. I was happy concessions were open (yay for Manda dogs!) and I waited in line for 5 minutes, walked in with my ticket, and sat 15 rows off the field at the 50 yard line just in time for kickoff. I couldn't see a better way for it to have been handled. I agree, however, that it should be a bigger deal. And I think it should be at night and it shouldn't be free- if they charge 5 a head they will still sell every ticket to that game if they hype it up more and make it later. However, there was a bunch of other stuff going on that day, the afternoon was the only time that was really open for people to come without interfering too much with baseball, volleyball, track, etc. That being said, check the sig. TAF does suck. Ryan was either throwing too high or too low, he couldn't get it down appropriately.
