I found a few interesting tidbits from today's Atlanta paper, along with each statement's writer:

Despite the impressive performance by LSU in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, Auburn will be the preseason favorite to win the SEC West. Florida will be favored to win the SEC East.

--- TONY BARNHART, AJC national college football writer

Les Miles will leave LSU for Michigan when Lloyd Carr is fired. ... Clemson will win its division, at least. ... Vince Young will leave Texas for the NFL. ... Notre Dame will win the national championship, followed closely by Ohio State. They will meet in a desert rematch in Glendale, Ariz., next year.

    --- DENNIS DODD, CBS Sportsline

    Auburn will win the SEC.

    --- MARK BRADLEY, AJC columnist

Tennessee will be the best team in the SEC with David Cutcliffe back on staff, and Michigan fans will be belting out "The Victors" often on their way to the Big Ten title.

--- TOM DIENHART, The Sporting News

Why the love affair with Auburn?

Maybe they feel that the clinic that Wisconsin put on them will have long term positive effects.

Les Miles leaves LSU for Michigan... Hmmmm.
Although some people around here would love that.
If that happens Michigan better bust out the checkbook, because I believe there is a big buyout if he leaves for Michigan...
But I think I just heard that.

Because LSU loses 21 seniors most of whom are impact players and has Auburn, Florida, and Tennessee on the road in 2006. It will be a minor rebuilding year for LSU and 9-3 will be doing very good under the circumstances.

2007 will be LSU's year to roll with more experienced starters and a schedule custom made for a National Championship run. Virginia Tech, Florida, Auburn, and South Carolina . . . all at home.

I think 8 is our over/under total for wins next year because of the damage to both lines we suffer, and the worst possible schedule at the worst possible time.

This sounds suspiciously like what was predicted for Auburn in 2005....

Let's wait till we find out.

Bama will win in Baton Rouge!

Yeah wishful thinking I know...We are going to have that "rebuilding year" next year. IF John Parker Wilson is under center and plays acceptional, we can have a good year.

I'm thinking 9-3 next year for Bama.

Auburn, Florida, and Tenn on the road.....I think we can go on the road and beat 2 of theese teams if not all 3. We loose some really good players this year but we have a lot of talent with playing experience returning
