1. Don't you feel that college football should go to a 2 minute warning like the nfl since the time change rule. If they are going to try to make the college game like a pro game they should give a 2 minute warning so teams can have that extra time out at the end of halfs. just a thought.
  2. Actually, I've thought about this one a lot. Off the top of my head, I would say yes. But after thinking it over NO. The two minute warning is nothing more than a TV timeout. Also, right now, part of the coaching strategy is that you can't waste your timeouts. It adds excitement to the game. I love the way tight college games are down the stretch. I don't want the game action to stop just because of the time on the clock.
  3. Also, the NFL has several rules that only apply during the last two minutes of the half--rules such as no spotting fumbles forward if not recovered by the player who fumbled the ball, a 5- or 10-second run off of the clock when the offense commits a penalty, and costing the offensive team a timeout if they have an injury (if they are out of timeouts, it's a delay of game with the requisite 5 or 10 second run off.) These are all rules that come from a game changing event that someone in the NFL thought wasn't fair. NFL coaches also lose their ability to call for a review after the 2 min warning.

Since I do not think that the game should operate by different rules in the last 2 minutes, I see no reason for the 2 min warning.

  4. I really believe the time change rule will be voted out after the season. At least I hope so.
  5. I agree with Thorny and Nut. I don't want to see college turned into an NFL type game. But yes vote out this rule change if possible
