Ok which one of us does a weekly LSU sports show...I think I understand where my notes and stats come from and take those things into consideration.
But since you ONLY have 300 post in 3 years I guess that is understandable.
Actually I do have a sports show. I just don't pimp it on the boards. If people are interested, www.openhavoc.net. My post count has nothing to do with my knowledge of football or this board. I read it every work day throughout the day. I just don't feel the need to post except when I think the regulars are off base.
Oh and considering that MOST of our passes now are of the 20 to 10 yard range and are drags/slants/crossing routes the chances of the WR turning the WRONG are cut down.
There were at least 2 - 3 times during the Florida game that WR's turned wrong. Still, that doesn't address the issue of Lee being forced out of pocket due to poor line play, or how the defenders were covering WR's forcing them to break routes.
Nope the truth just hurts sometimes AND I take my Purple Glasses off when something isnt right!
The truth hurts who? I'm certainly not hurt by your statements, nor do I think any REASONABLE person would think I'm wearing Purple glasses.
I'm simply of the belief that a RSFR QB, who's only started 2 games in college, last week being his first on the road, and the game plan having to totally change, requiring him to throw 38 times (double what he averages) did not cost us the game, nor did his play during the game show me that he is unable to play the QB position effectively.
I said without the ABLILTY to get the YAC like we have gotten in the past we will not see that Game Breaking "BIG PLAY"
And if a WR has to stop or jump up in the air to catch an errant pass then that cuts down the chances of OUR WRs using their SPEED to get that "BIG PLAY"
I saw you tell someone that our YAC stats were padded by bubble screens, etc. So I'm confused, someone actually shows you how LSU is averaging pretty decent yards per completion and you excuse it due to WR getting yards within our game scheme?
Who is our answer at the "big play"? Please stop trying to promote JJ. He's not the answer right now. One day, maybe, but we're not talking about next year or in 2 years. We're talking about this season and this season Lee is our strongest QB. Do you honestly think JJ would have been able to make ANY pass that Lee hasn't been able to make?
Right and comparing stats of 2 different teams is so much more tangable.
Yes because creating your own stats is so much more tangable than comparing actual stats. :thumb:
Again comparing 3 different styles of play PROVES NOTHING as far as how a QB is doing in the given situation!
It doesn't? Then how do they select a Heisman winner? I always thought it was by examining his stats to see specifically how he performed in situations. I mean seriously, 80% of the time Lee threw the ball in a horrible way? 80%?
See thats the great thing, I am able to be a huge fan of my Tigers without having to watch the games through purple glasses or drinking the Kool Aid everytime I am thirsty.
When have I shown myself to be a Kool aid drinking, purple glasses wearing LSU tiger fan? (crap ya'll don't have those pictures do you?????)
I simply believe (for like the 10th or 11th time saying this) that a RSFR QB, starting 2 games, 1 on the road, and being asked to throw double his normal amount did not lose the game for us. Nor do I think ANY QB LSU has right now could have played ANY better than Lee has played. Not only in the UF game, but throughout the season.
As I have shown with actual stats (you know, the type of stats that sports show hosts use ALL THE TIME to compare QB's) Lee has played at a level that can be nothing but complementary for being so young and inexperienced.
But I will make a deal with you since you think I am so wrong.
At the end of this season we revisit this, if you are wrong about Lee you must present yourself before the board and admit to one and all that you have no idea about the game of football, and more specifically the QB position. And if I am wrong I will do the same!
I will not take a bet that requires LSU to lose for someone to win. No true tiger fan would even make a bet that if they wanted to win would actually hurt LSU.
I'm not saying you don't know football, or questioning your knowledge. I'm just of the belief that you're allowing your emotions to cloud your judgement on Lee. Before the season ever started we knew our QB's were going to have growing pains and our O and D lines and running backs were going to have to carry their weight while they learned.
We didn't lose the game due to Lee's playing. We lost it because or lines, running backs, and defense failed us (whether that's due to Coaching or players is another subject). Click to expand...
