No it wasn't but the 1959 game with a #1 ranked LSU and #2 ranked Ole Miss has to be the biggest game in tiger stadium history. That Halloween night is one for the ages. Also look back on the games with Notre Dame and USC who came into tiger stadium as the #1 team in the country as other HUGE games in Tiger Stadium history.

Im not saying this isnt a big game but last weeks loss to Aub lessened what may have been the biggest but it would be hard to top that historic Halloween game in 1959.

And that we haven't played anyone because Florida is overrated just like South Carolina and VT....it'll never end.
People seem to forget that WE are the reason those other teams are overrated cause we beat them down.

I don't know... They are writing about last year's Fla. team losing one game and playing for the NC game. They still LOVE their QB and are high on their coach. Everybody has an opinion and mine is "this is one of the biggest games in TS EVER". If we win this one the love will flow from the reporters like the hippies at Woodstock!

I'd say it is maybe the biggest game in Tiger Stadium since Billy Cannon's run. That game was 1 vs. 2.

The 79 game against USC was a crusade, a David vs. Goliath, but even if we had pulled the upset (we were SO close), the implications were not there for us.

We need this game to control our destiny, so I think its the biggest in 50 years.

    Come on Tigers!

To me every single game is the most important in Tiger Stadium history especialy when your trying to win a National Championship and your undefeated.

If were 2-6 and playing in Tiger Stadium it would not be quite as important.

The thread title is "One of the biggest games"..., and it most definitely is. With us hitting the Tiger Stadium field for the first time in 50 years as the #1 team, playing the defending national champs, and all the attention this game is garnering...no doubt.

(although I agree that it would've been even bigger had UF not lost to AU):thumb:

I've been reading the posts here, reading the internet articles on this game, watching the T.V. reports about this game and I started thinking what an amazing time this is to be a Tiger fan.

For those of us that have been Tiger fans since the early 80's it's just amazing to be talking about this team and this season. I can remember so many times when we would follow up a huge win with a loss to an inferior opponent the next week and now we are talking about this program as being one of the best in the nation, ranked #1 in the AP, great recruiting classes every year.

I can still remember rushing the field on December 1 2001 when we beat Auburn to win the SEC West. We all thought that was a huge win. I remember giving Robert Royal a pat on the back and he had a cigar in his mouth, everybody remembers what that was about. I also however remember being in Tiger stadium in 93 when FLA beat us 58-3. For so many years it was up and down up and down and now this program is consistently one of the top programs in the nation.

What an amazing time for Tiger Nation.
