Man, I should leave this alone, but.... I doubt that. We'll be talented, but no way near the best of all time.
On what basis? Just asking, not flaming! My only question here would be that you lost a lot of talent to the NFL this past year. Will the replacements be up to speed in enough time to have an SEC championship team? Go Dawgs! ClaraDawg
Yeah well, most people thought our '03 team was still a year away from making a run. Myself included. That was a young team. This team from a talent standpoint, is in an even better situation than that team was.
Honestly...and this may sound cliche'...but I think this team will "gel" better than the last two seasons. Really, there are NO "superstars". There is plenty of amazing talent...Dorsey, KW, Early, Flynn, Arnold, the entire defense for that matter, Holliday, the list goes on and on. But none of them...with the exception of Dorsey...is coming in with the label of superstar. Early gets some notice from a few...but most people don't have a clue who he is. (I'm talking about media and other teams fans...I am certain rival coaches know who he is):thumb: That just opens the doors for someone like Lafell...or Byrd...or Tolliver...you get the point. The talent is endless on this team. Same with the RB's. Nobody except us and those who played us last season have a clue who Jacob Hester is...or Keiland Williams. Even those who played us last season don't know who Richard Murphy is. We have weapons...as many if not MORE than we had last year. Is Flynn Jamarcus? The better question is...does he need to be? I say NO WAY to both questions. First of all, Jamarcus was and is an absolute BEAST of a QB. I am very proud to say he was a Tiger. Flynn can't throw the ball 80 yds while standing on his head with one arm tied behind his back like JR...so what?! Answer this. Who's the better QB? Matt Mauck? Or Matt Flynn? I say Flynn...but they're similar...and we all know what the team led by Mauck was able to accomplish.:crystal: This team is so similar to that one...unsung, yet experienced mature QB, YOUNG talented RB's, one standout WR along with a few whose potential was not yet realized, and a SAVAGE DEFENSE.o: To me, those are the things that this team has, and history shows that to be a winning combination for LSU! . Judging from things I have read or heard, these guys just GEL. Are you gellin'?:hihi:
I'm like Magellan I'm so gellin' another weekend with awful baseball or boring preseason games, this game needs to hurry up and get here. (shameless plug: We'll be doing The Geaux Show:LSU Preaseason special live @ 2pm CST this saturday to test our new streaming equipment, I invite you all to join us.) GEAUX!
