Finally, the line will move back a foot. It wont be this year, though. The change is slated for November of '08. Really not a huge move, but should keep some of those pesky teams that only hit threes a less chance of beating us. Story
I saw that earlier. Why can't they just move it back to the NBA 3 point line. That would make more sense.
I wish they'd raise the goal in the NBA so it's not a dunking contest. Oh, and the three point line, take it out alltogther like "The ol days". :hihi:
Don't know why they just didn't use the international distance of 20' 6". Guess those 3" will really make a difference. Now they need to widen the lane so it doesn't look like a cluster**** on offense.
It really needs to go back to the NBA line to make a difference. They act like it it a huge deal, but its not like the players are shooting right on the line....they are further back anyways.
Need more room for those big bodies to operate. The NBA lane is a couple of feet wider. IMO, it would open up the inside game more by making it harder for the double team to come from the other side of the lane.
The college 3-point line is ridiculuosly closer to the hoop compared to the NBA line, it's a good thing because now the real 3-point shooters will stand out. I think it'll be enough to force teams to play better ball now rather than just having certain guys hangin around the 3-point line.
not true. isnt it 19'9 currently? a foot is a major difference. any bum can hit a 3 with little effort from that distance. even guys like big baby shoot it like a free throw. the nba line would be too far for college guys. actually a foot may be too far and the 20'6 might be better but i think i like it. only your good guards will be shooting the majority now.
NBA and College should both move the 3 point line to the international distance. If these fools learn to shoot from that distance maybe we won't get our a**es handed to us at the next Olympics
