Talk about completely missing the joke. Tide detergent - Roll Tide...get it? :dis: I don't really know about nor care about Alabama's football budget. I assume that any University would have cash in place to pay someone before extending a contract.

To answer the only thing worth commenting to here...

These dollar figures come from the revenue and expense reports from schools. Those reports include everything you have mentioned, except building projects. If I where to have included those the figures would have been 10 millions more. And, the figures quoted for LSU did include renovations. They aren't part of the Ath. Budget of either school.

All these continued slams on Saban. They do fascinate me to know end. :)

It's persuaded me to believe Les Miles has the best coaching job in the SEC. Don't ask why I think that! :hihi: :hihi:

I find this line of reasoning hypocritical. It's being used today because of where he's coaching. But, it wasn't a thought, much less a suspicion, when he signed the contract with LSU and was made the highest paid college coach a few years back after winning the NC.

    UPS, Metlife... :nope:

No, I got the joke...just used your post as a reference point. 'twasn't calling you out, by any means.

It's turned into some sort-of deal with Terry just slicing people up... I want nothing to do with it. I learned about that already.

To kind of shift gears- what about the Thursday night game? I'm fine with it as long as it's a once a year thing, especially because it's opening the season on national TV, and not against someone like Bama, Aubie, UF, etc.

Idea I just had- don't necessarily think is right- should we start shifting some of our lesser opponents to Thursday night to get some more time to prepare for harder games?

What Terry isn't saying is that LSU is still in overall top ten in College Football in terms of total program worth, which is all we need to consistently field a nationally competitive team. The differences he is talking about exist but are negligible in the larger picture. For comparison, while Bama's football program is worth between 3 and 4 million more than LSU's, Notre Dame's is worth about 20 million more than Bama's, while Georgia beats Bama by about 14, and Florida beats them by around 10. This was all detailed by Forbes not that long ago.
