He has an IMPRESSIVE resume. My only concern is with his emphasis on the passing game, will our running game be used adequately? I like balance, and the ability to run the ball when you have too. That may not have been possible at Oregon, but it is possible here. I like balance.

I like Les's willingness to hire great coordinators, even those who are highly qualitified and could rival him. He seems a secure person, and not afraid to have strong and mature folks on his staff. I like that about Les.

All you QB's and receivers... LSU is your place!

    Look who we got! :)

I'd say he trumps Major Applewhite.

Stats don't really support that. Every team he has gone to's offense has drastically improved in the first year.

This guy is one of the top 5 OC's in the country. HUGE, HUGE hire by Miles.

A couple of years ago when Miles was hired, many people on here were saying that Crowton would be hired back then. How awesome is it that he's willing to take the job a couple of years later!

people will site Oregon's record and say this is a bad hire, but Oregon scored 28 or more points EIGHT times last year...

    this is great.

The next level? BCS Bowl win, top 3 finish. If the Tigers move up another level then we would be traveling to Chicago this Sunday.

yeah as much as many of us has always respected the gym rat if there is such a thing in football, MA is it--but crowton over applewhite is a no brainer.

though MA was going to be the qb coach. Saban is looking at garrett (suprise huh) as OC.

id take crowton over either of them. Im beyond surprised les would go this route. when crowtons name first came up I had the reaction many people did and dismissed it right away. I in no way thought he'd invite this type of offense to LSU. I wonder what jamarcus'/bowe's numbers would have looked like in retrospect as opposed to saban/les controlled offenses.

Seems like this is the total opposite of Miles' "conservative" approach. I guess Miles thinks this is what the program needs now. Solid hire.

This should bring a lot of excitement to the offense and might be able to keep/attract even more recruits/athletes to this system.

Anyone know what are the base formations he likes to use?
