I think it needs to be address for no other reason than to cut down on the # of Offensive Coordinator Threads.
I know...don't get me wrong...that offense obviously put up freakish passing totals... but don't you think we want someone who has proven to run a more balanced offense??? especially with the corps of RBs we have.
The one thing people fail to see when looking at TTU stats is the number of passes caught by the RB. Many of these "pass completions" are not much more than a different means to hand off the ball. The biggest difference is when you hand the ball off, you lose all other options. In the Leach offense the "hand off" occurs after looking at other options. Look back at Henderson's stats from 2005. The RB would have garnered more yards than any of the AU backs, and over a 1000 were still traditional ground yards. No, a bruiser back wouldn't thrive in this system, but a RB that is featured in this type of O gets lots of touches\yards\td's.
The other night I posted this about Robert Anae who is now at BYU. I think he would be a good fit for you guys. There can be some balance in the TTU style attack. http://tigerforums.com/showthread.php?p=535901#post535901
How about the OC from Houston? I just think LSU needs a quick strike offense and we need one that is not afraid of using tight ends and will throw the ball to more than 2 people. And we need a OC that is not afraid to incorporate deception in the offense.
