It won't happen unless the Rose Bowl Committee decides to get a little crazy and invite Florida instead of LSU.

Weirder things have happened. It's hard to know what would go through the majority of pollsters' minds if their expectations at the end of tomorrow get turned upside down. A LOT/MOST don't want to see a rematch, but will allow it if necessary. Some don't want to see a rematch at all. Some really want the rematch. On the other hand, how would the computers consider the Arkansas quality win component?

What quality win component? That is gone from the BCS

As for your hypothetical that the voters would put LSU over Michigan, that is indeed nonsense.

So basically, at this point BCS ranking doesn't mean shi'ite? I'm really starting to dislike the BCS even more. In my opinion, if your conference doesn't have a Champ game, then you can only get one team in a BCS bowl.

The BCS rankings are there to pick #1 and #2, and then to determine which of the remaining teams are eligible for the at-large BCS slots. Some of those slots are guaranteed (Notre Dame is guaranteed if they finish ranked #8 or better, non-BCS conference teams get one slot if they are #12 or better).

You are right that it is gone from the General BCS Computation, however, the COMPUTER rankings (individually) still may count quality wins (whether defined as that or not) in some form or fashion.

Well, you specifically referred to the "quality win component" so it's pretty obvious what you meant. Nice try though. It's ok to make mistakes. We're all human. I make mistakes constantly! :thumb:

What you fail to realize is LSU won't pass Michigan in ANY of the computer polls. That means that 2 out of every 3 (67 %) of the voters must put LSU ahead of Michigan on their ballot. We're not even talking 50.1 percent, we're talking 67 %.

I don't need to tell you how impossible that is.

The voters already spoke last week about a rematch when they left Michigan hanging around in near 2nd place over USC after the loss to Ohio State.
