1st - #6 makes his 3rd down catch in the red zone 1st half and after the catch he taunts my LSU DB by looking at him and flipping the ball straight up with the Ref right there. The ball sails and no flag. 2nd - on a 3rd down play the Duck WR makes a catch on the sideline and it looks like what I saw his foot slip and go out of bounds but he is fighting to make the 1st marker. The Ref is just 10 ft away and doesn't see the foot go out ? He rules it a catch and a 1st down spot. ???? Les calls for a review and it is clear the Ref is looking and it's clear that he is out of bounds. 3rd - JL goes back and throws a bomb to #33 Odell and hits a 40 yarder but we are called for holding. The Holding was a hand on the shoulder pads of a DL with no impact on the play. really guys saying that I thought the crew did make the early calls against the Ducks !
That was an important play! When De Anthony Thomas flipped that ball, I about spilled my drink. Lucky as hell no flag was thrown. Freshmen mistake. I thought the refs were good mostly. Did you think the leg whipping penalties, and such, were justified? I only saw what happened on one of them.
Yeah the network wouldn't replay them for some strange reason. Yeah that ball flipped, the fake head shot, and the bs holding call. Come to think of it, they didn't show any of the Oregon fouls (no pun intended ) either.
That's what I was talking about with the "fake headshot". Forgot about the dude stepping out of bounds in front of the ref though.
Significant but the right call. The announcers were all hung up on him lowering the head. But he also launched himself, which is a penalty, even though there was no helmet to helmet contact.
hey Duck I didn't see the leg whip - I can understand that call when a guy is trying to trip or do what the call sounds like - I don't like it when it happens as part of play and the guy seems to be out of control. You guys played awesome and handled LSU well but you kind of let it get away. I didn't think you guys could beat LSU but I think if you played a very good game against us you could take us. Very good team and a great coach ! I don't want to play you again !!!! good luck :tigereye:
I don't think he actually made contact with the dude with anything but his shoulder pad. His helmet certainly didn't hit him. How can you call a penalty about "leading with the helmet", "spearing", whatever you want to call it when the only thing that hit the opposing player was a shoulder pad.
I was really surprised that they didn't call a delay of game penalty or personal foul for that. Also, there was a play when the LSU player was taken down well after he was out of bounds and the play was dead, but no call. I guess since he wasn't Tim Tebow it's not a big deal...
