Bienvenue is an LSU graduate. But he is shilling for the press already, making sure that "witnesses" all told their side of the story to the media as well as the police. Yesterday he accused the LSU players of "refusing to cooperate with the police" when they postpones their interviews. If there is another side to this story, LSU had better get it in the press because that's where this is being tried right now.
He's also pissed because I'm sure he was hoping to simply railroad the football players without council. Oh, and the fact that he's now going up against Nathan Fisher probably didn't sit too well, either.
The approach of keeping you mouth shut and no comment has been convectional wisdom for years. I just don't think it's effective in cases where public image is as big a concern as the legal aspect. With today's easy access to instant mass communication, it is important to get your story out first and stay ahead of publicity. The public has a natural tendency to want things resolved and are looking for any info that can help then assign blame so they can move on. When only one side is talking, then that's all the only info we have to go on. Even if the players are ultimately exonerated of all charges the damage may already be done.
i agree. the ambulance chaser is trying this in the press. and making very inflammatory remarks. i hope his law firm goes belly up after this and he never makes another penny in br if there is no validity to his clients side of the story.
Well, lawyers are hired guns. If they don't protect their clients tenaciously they are useless. OJ was a slimeball, but Cochran was a damn smart lawyer. So is nathan Fisher. But . . . all of these people have to live in this town after it all goes down. They should be more careful what they say to the press, especially if it includes things that they cannot repeat under oath.
