I think we all understand that.

    But thanks, anyway.

An Oregon loss and a close Auburn loss probably pits Auburn vs TCU in the BCS CG, South Carolina goes to the Sugar and LSU is left out in the cold.

    That's the conundrum.

It's the "be careful what you wish for" syndrome.

There is no way for LSU to pass TCU in that scenario because they will be a consensus #1 and LSU will be in a clusterphuck of votes for 2nd place, sharing them with Auburn, Wisconsin and maybe even Stanford and Oregon (if they lost close). The computer polls won't be enough of an advantage for LSU to compensate for the human polls.

i think you missed my point.

the obvious, as you so kindly pointed out, is that next week is moot if lsu doesnt take care of business today.

but that also, today, and whatever bowl game, bcs or not, are gonna factor big into where we are going into next season, so today and a strong finish are important for more than this season.

in the end, only one thing matters. that lsu win.

^^^^This!!! Funny how people are talking jibberish ahead of the game which this game is a toss up and Hogs have the advantage being in Arkansas. I understand it's jibberish but I hope the players are focused on this game and not what the rest of the top BCS teams are doing. Boise fans got their dose of reality last night and look how they were looking ahead and I'm sure the players/coach did the same!

I thought after 03' with OU you couldn't go to the BCS championship if you lost your conference championship game? Did that change?

I don't believe that if Auburn loses the last game they will play for the title. They are #2 now and teams always drop when they lose. Plus with the Big Fig Newton scandal people really don't want another national title vacated in the future so I think that would hinder Auburn also.

No, despite the popular notion that the BCS rules changed to prohibit non-conference champions to play for the BCS title, no such rule exists.
