Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill You are making way too much of this. Take an aspirin or something. I objected to something you said. Live with it. :insane:
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill As opposed to what? Forking over billions without any investigation? As far as loss of tangible property, the first party property insurers will pay as soon as the losses are tallied and proven. The fight will be over getting reimbursed by the culpable parties.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill wont the real fight be over the likely historic punative damages (although i realize this bp disaster wasnt likely because of a drunk.)? for the valdez it was several billion but got cut to somewhere well under a billion 20 years later.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill I'm not making a value judgement, just pointing out that it will be BP's insurers' procedures that drag the process, not BP itself, who would really like the PR disaster to recede quickly.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill No, just sick of your pompous remarks. I am quite certain I'm not alone. I've said it before...you take on the persona of your avatar on here...loud and pompous...and irritating. What you did was call me a liar, and when I proved you wrong, you wanna come back and make light of it. You will do anything to start an argument...or as you probably like to call it...a "debate". But as soon as someone calls you on it, you hide out for a while, then come back and act like it was nothing. Cowardly. - Anytime you wanna come back with the results of those samples/autopsies, or tell of all the animals that the environmental scientists have found covered in oil, I truly am concerned about those things. I hope they find nothing, but if they do find something, I would definitely wanna know. - You fully know what I was talking about. You can go to accuweather.com right now, and right next to the links to the oil spill discussion is a photo of a bird completely bathed in black heavy oil...looked like 6 oil to me. We both know that photo is from Valdez over 20 years ago, but the media tries to spin everything to worst case scenario. It's wrong...it's yellow journalism at best. It's no different than those snippets you posted about the turtles. Sure, if you dig into the article, you MIGHT find that they aren't claiming the turtles were killed by the oil, but the very titles of the articles more than imply the two are related. And there are definitely stories out there that flat out tie the two together. It's BS. There may be some turtles that die because of this event...and when it happens, they should report it. But right now, they are creating false "news" to create hits on their sites, sell their papers, increase their ratings. Vultures.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill We should certainly be concerned about our environment and the health and safety of the people who work in the oil and gas industry. However, I suggest that we all turn off the electricy and gas in our homes and not use our cars for an entire week, that experience will give anyone a different perspective about that industry and its "place" in the overall scheme of things.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill Not trying to get into y'alls conversation, but I found this article. http://www.sunherald.com/2010/05/03/2150886/no-evidence-of-oil-found-in-5.html
